How the index works.
A large database is useful only when its labels mean something. This is the standard behind every machine profile.
Sources first
Model names and core product positioning are checked against manufacturer ranges and Australian retailer availability. Official manufacturer pages are linked from profiles wherever possible. We use broad Australian price bands because promotions, finishes, bundles and stock move quickly.
What we do not claim
A database profile is not a hands-on laboratory review. We do not invent test scores, star ratings, owner counts or “best” badges. Editorial guide picks are starting points based on workflow fit and market position, not disguised performance testing.
Classification
Machines are grouped by primary workflow: manual espresso, integrated grinder, fully automatic, capsule, filter, or portable and lever. Skill level describes the expected workflow—not the owner’s taste or ability.
Commercial separation
Affiliate links, retailer panels and sponsor placements are visually labelled. Payment never changes a machine’s type, price band, specifications, alternatives or inclusion in the database.
Corrections
Models change and regional catalogues differ. Until a public corrections inbox is connected, discrepancies are flagged during scheduled catalogue reviews before each major version.
